Vertex Technology Consultants is a North Carolina-based low voltage technology, security and audiovisual consulting firm with more than 20 years of experience. Specializing in structured cabling, surveillance and access control, data center design and implementation as well as audiovisual systems, we deliver expert advice to companies and organizations interested in positioning themselves as leading organizations in the industry.

Vertex Technology Consultants was founded by Rick Sousa, RCDD, WS AP in 2009, based on his desire to provide organizations with a single source for low voltage design. Rick is a subject matter expert in the areas of structured cabling systems, security and surveillance, voice, data and video distribution and audiovisual design. He brings over 20 years of both design and direct project experience in the mixed use, education, Class A office and multi-family. His background includes audiovisual designs, expertise with security including; intrusion, surveillance and access control systems, outside plant construction and cable distribution systems and project management.  His prior work experience as a structured cabling contractor and integrator allows Rick to brings real world expertise to both the design and administrative process.

 Rick has been actively involved in the design of many projects and his work dots the Southeast. His invaluable expertise with how a building functions make him a necessary team member. His knowledge of multi-story multi-family and the low voltage systems such as: parking systems, structured cabling, A/V, carrier networks, site considerations, cellular DAS and emergency responder wireless networks as well as building security is unparalleled in the market.
